I bet you’d be hard pressed to find two more sweet and authentic individuals than Lauren and Devin. These two love birds are the real deal! I knew right away when I first met them that the entire experience was simply going to be outstanding. Their disposition, personality, smiles, word choice, gentle character, and so much more couldn’t be missed. Confirming my suspicions was my time with them during the engagement photo session at Historic Jerusalem Mills. Simply delightful. So on a most amazing Spring weather day in 2019, Lauren and Devin got married at the Historic Belmont Manor in Elkridge, Maryland. A sprawling estate that is preserved and maintained by Howard County, it boasts acres and acres of undeveloped land, lush green pastures, a magnificent mansion, vineyards, a barn and grain silo, spiral staircases, vintage furniture, crystal chandeliers, a billiards room, and so much more. Belmont Manor is an ideal place to have your wedding! Trans4mation Photography (Annapolis Wedding Photographer) was honored to be there to capture their wedding!
By far, I would say this was one of the best overall experiences in wedding photography I’ve had. Two amazing people, an outstanding wedding venue, perfect weather with just enough cloud coverage for light diffusion, spectacular catering, and amazing day-of coordinator, endless picturesque backdrops, etc. But I have to say that Lauren and Devin take the prize for being a woman and a man of character. They are winsome, delightful people (have you figured out yet that I can’t get enough of these two?!). Let me tell you three quick stories to prove my point:
When I met Lauren and Devin for the venue walk through about 1 month before their wedding, it was unmistakable that Devin did NOT want a “First Look”. However, I ask his permission to make the case why he may want to consider. Lauren was quickly sold. I could tell he still was on the fence. But upon looking at Lauren and seeing that she really wanted to have a First Look, he laid down his preferences and quickly supported the idea. It wasn’t even a neutral support. He wanted Lauren happy at the expense of his own desires. Now that’s a man’s man. The real deal.
On the wedding day, the Best Man made a short and sweet toast to the Bride and Groom. It was then that he revealed something amazing about Devin’s character. He said, “Devin would take his shirt off any day to help someone out… In fact, I have a closet full of those shirts.” Wow. Unselfish. Other-centered. Kind. Our world needs more men like Devin.
And not to leave sweet Lauren without a compliment, she was so easy going, a lover of people, and especially a lover of children – namely children in her Kindergarten class. It is unusual to invite children to weddings, let alone invite your Kindergarten class! That’s exactly what Lauren did. She all but said, “This day isn’t just about me, it’s about the people Devin and I care about.” Another WOW. Right after the ceremony, Lauren made sure to ask me to take candid and group shots of her students in front of the mansion.
Have I made my case why these two are amazing people? I hope to remain friends with both of them for a long time – I will be the one better for it!
