The ladies often have more than ample options for gifting each other on the wedding day. The bride is giving away nail salon gift certificates, necklaces, other jewelry, something for the purse, perfume, and so forth.
The men? Well, the men normally don’t have too many options. But a new website GroovyGuyGifts.com has changed that. With focus specifically on guys gifts for the wedding party, the groomsmen, the best man, the fathers, etc., this website has many manly man guy things to choose from. I was recently asked by GroovyGuyGifts to check out and review one of the humidors they offer:
This one, made from high quality Spanish cedar is kiln dried which increases its ability to absorb moisture and avoid cracking. It is this very quality that helps humidors retain their ability to keep cigars properly stored and fresh. It is finished in a cherry stain and has a satin finish. You can order any letter of the alphabet to be engraved into the wood cover.
I consider myself a run-of-the-mill cigar aficionado: I like them. I smoke them. I know a dozen brands. But I am not crazy about this vice. Maybe 1 or 2 cigars per month. I am more of a hookah smoker! But, I have had several humidors in the past and know what a good quality tabletop humidor should look like.
The humidor from GroovyGuyGifts.com is exceptional. The humidor measures 9.5 X 7.25 X 3.75 when closed, and has a capacity of 8.5 X 6.25 X 2.5 to store cigars (about 20-30 cigars depending on their size). The look is sleek, clean. The wood has an aroma that is pleasantly cedar. The hinges along the corner edges of the humidor are made with brass (or a brass finish – I couldn’t tell). It has a beveled edge on the outside of the cover top, and a larger bevel bead around the bottom. The top is easy to open and contains a moisture pad (you fill this with water or solution to help the cigars stay properly moistened) and a brass colored hygrometer (you want to keep this between 60-80%). The bottom base of the humidor is a black felt that allows you to place it on any surface without scratching the surface.
Conclusion: I was very impressed by the quality of this humidor and would recommend this as a gift item for any guy out there… a great gift idea for your groomsmen! At the time of this review, it is selling for $49.99. The customer service by Joe from GroovyGuyGifts.com was great as he was very responsive and willing to help. Consider using their website! And if you’re in the market for a well crafted humidor that won’t break the bank, check it out here.
