That smile. I saw it about a year ago and instantly knew it held power. Power to draw you in, power to put you in a trance, power to hypnotize. I subconsciously knew it. But during this month’s toasts to the bride and groom, the best man said those exact words about Jenna. Beautiful on the inside and outside, this bride lights up any room. Tell the 200 guests that came to the famous Baltimore landmark, The Grand Historic, which brags several floors of visually stunning architecture amidst breathtaking decor carefully re-created and restored to its original grandeur. This vintage 1867 Freemason Grand Lodge was once visited by President Andrew Johnson during its inaugural year, but ultimately suffered three serious fires around the turn of the century and was converted to an air raid shelter during the Second World War. Ultimately, it was rescued from being relegated to a parking garage and now again enjoys the fame of its glorious days on its hallowed ground.
Just as though Jenna’s beauty wasn’t striking enough, I realized that Doug too, the groom, was the proverbial man’s man. He carried himself with that certain “je nais se quoi”. A racing motorcyclist, and a successful business man, Doug couldn’t have looked more dapper on this February day. Seeing him look upon his beautiful bride as she and her father walked down the isle of the Marble Room was unavoidable. Yes, this man’s man was teary-eyed – who could blame him?
The solemn occasion was followed by cocktails in the Roman Strada Room where 18th century furnishings were occupied by guests and fashionistas replete in their tuxes and evening wear. I took Jenna and Doug to the spiral staircase, Board Room, Library, and Collonade to capture stunning images of both of them and their bridal party. Good planning by the Maid of Honor (thanks Renee!) allowed me and my second photographer to have ample time to capture plenty of creative photographs before the real party got started in the Corinthian Room where the night got longer, the drinks got taller, and the music got louder.
Thanks to Dan Hawkins from Music Masters for his exceptional entertaining music. [Add Florist, Caterer, Gown, Shoes, Tuxedos, etc]. Here’s to Jenna and Doug – a life long full of happiness and love.
